On Friday the S&P 500 closed above 1500 for the first time since 2007. I have suggested in past updates that we could likely break out to ‘new’ all time highs in the near future. In the first week of February Mars, Mercury, and Neptune are all transiting Pisces and trine to the U.S. Venus. The outcome could produce another bullish move in the markets that could accelerate mid February.
As a reminder from past updates, Pluto at 10 degrees Capricorn is very positive for the economy and conservative values (traditions, standards, and the Constitution) of the nation. With the barrage of media attention on gun control, the debt ceiling, and Benghazi hearings it may seem that everything is going to hell in a hand basket. The reality is the people are slowly making progress and there are some victories that are worth noting. For one, airports are removing the the x-ray body scanners, which were controversial from a health standpoint let alone privacy. I personally would never go through one from the standpoint that there were no physicians present during what in most cases is considered a medical procedure. Secondly, Obama (and his backers) did not get their “Grand Bargain” with the fiscal cliff deal as they made so public before the elections.
With Pluto moving forward in Capricorn we will very likely begin to see more of a return to the established traditions and values of our democracy and a reversal from the dictatorial attitudes in Obama’s first four years. The influence of Neptune in the United States Chart will reinforce in the people a desire to achieve the American dream while at the same time frustrate the administrations attempt to remold America into something else. Neptune is the most difficult planet to master as it operates in the spiritual realm. Neptune works by persuasion and is interested in humanitarian concerns while shunning greed and selfishness.
The President has a long road to hoe with the current transit of Neptune as it is also making a square to his moon. This is a very difficult influence to overcome as it brings out anger from the public, and most likely an inability for the President to connect with the people. It could become more apparent in the media that he is losing his persuasiveness in matters that are not in keeping with the traditions of America.
